Today was a wonderful first day of school in room 74!
We made up our Classroom Contract that all of the students signed; these are the things that we will do in our room to make it a peaceful and respectful learning environment. We also took a tour of the school, and our classroom, to get ourselves acquainted with where everything is.
In the morning we did an alphabet scavenger hunt to find things around the classroom that start with each letter. The students had a lot of fun with this and did a great job! In the afternoon we created our nametags, played a "getting to know you" game, and made our own creations out of play-doh. Ask your child about what they made and why they chose it. We finished the day with a welcome back assembly, put on by the Peace Ambassadors.
Each day in room 74 we will be having a snack for 10-15 minutes. To encourage healthy habits, it is recommended that they bring in something small to eat during this time like fruit, vegetables, granola bars, etc. that does not make much mess and, most importantly, is healthy! This will also help in reducing the volume of garbage that we are producing as a class. Your assistance in this will be much appreciated!
A package of forms went home today with the students; please fill out and return these forms as soon as possible.
Have a wonderful evening,
Mr. Soulliere
