Hello families and friends,

Today we had two rounds of Daily 5.  After Daily 5 we practiced our basketball skills in gym.  We also got into groups of 4 and did relay races.  After gym we learned about a new type of word in writer's workshop called onomatopoeia.  Ask your child about this.

In the afternoon we started off with some mental math.  Then we worked on some number story problems.  After math we continued working on our writing for the three cities we looked at in social studies.  We are acting like travel agents and doing some persuasive writing.

Swimming permission and volunteer forms are due back to Mr. Soulliere as soon as possible.   We are swimming next Monday to Thursday.  We leave the school at 10:10 and get back at 12:10.  Volunteers can choose to come on the bus or meet us at the Canyon Meadows swimming pool.

In music we are learning a song called Alberta Bound by Paul Brandt.  Practice this song at home.
