Hello families and friends,

In gym this morning we played Botchy Ball with the balls or frisbees and we played Evolution Tag.  In word work we did the /n/ sound.  We also read for 30 minutes straight.  At the end of the morning we did number strips, math games and worked on skip counting by 5 up to 100.

This afternoon we did some writing about Fall.  Ask your child what they wrote about.  At the end of the day we practiced being a scientist.

Next Thursday, October 30th, is the Halloween Howler.

Forms for Roots of Empathy need to be returned as soon as possible.

Picture order forms are going home today.

Why does Lola shed her skin?

Pumpkin Math: Next week, the students in rooms 73, 74 and 75 will be working on some Pumpkin Math.  They will be working in groups on some measurement and estimation skills, and to assist with this we are looking for some families to donate pumpkins.  Since we will be working on comparing and describing the pumpkins as well, we will be looking for a variety of sizes and shapes.  We will need approximately 6 pumpkins from each class.  If you are able to donate to our cause, please email me at <gasoulliere@cbe.ab.ca> before the weekend.  Your support is greatly appreciated!
